Basically, the quest “One Threat At a Time Quest” in New World is a very normal mission with no particular abnormalities. But there is one catch: you have to find Boatswain Ambrose.

The grumpy pirate is surprisingly well hidden and even the quest marker is not of much help to you. AOEAH.COM will tell you in this guide where to look for Ambrose.

One Threat At a Time Quest

The quest “One Threat At a Time” will be given to you in the city’s first light and should only be completed at level 17 for getting rewards such as New World gold. Of course, you are welcome to deal with it earlier.

Note, however, that you have to defeat the boatswain Ambrose towards the end of the quest and that this is a kind of boss fight.

In detail, it is your task to defeat both Ambrose and Zebulon in Nyhart’s anchor. Your two targets are guarded by a whole crowd of undead pirates.

While Zebulon is easy to track down (he’s on a large, stranded ship), Ambrose hides well. The reason for this is that the quest marker lures you on the wrong track.

New World: Find Boatswain Ambrose

The boatswain Ambrose is not in the harbor in front of the cliff, but directly below it. The quest marker is already positioned correctly, but does not tell you the level of the quest objective. You have to follow the jetty of the harbor down and then go through the arch of the bridge into a cave.

There Ambrose crouches on the ground and will attack you as soon as you get near him.

So you should take out all of his pirate colleagues before you try to take him on. Ambrose wields a large two-handed weapon and is therefore quite slow but tough. If he fends off his attacks or tries to evade and only counters with quick counter attacks, then the boatswain should soon be fish food.

Under certain circumstances you could also enter the cave, but, contrary to expectations, you could not find Ambrose.

In this case, the boss was recently knocked out by another player and you have to pass the time until he respawns otherwise. Finally, don’t forget to loot Ambrose’s treasure before you make your way back.
