Do you want to write good texts that hit your readers straight to the heart? But you don’t really know what you can do better about your lyrics? Then I’ve got something for you here: The Quick and Dirty Writing.

1.) Reading

If you want to write, you have to read – that’s what I once called a blog article. If you read a lot, you will improve your vocabulary and your feeling for language. And of course that also affects your own texts. But isn’t it great that you can do something that you enjoy and do something for your business at the same time? So I think that’s absolutely awesome.

2.) Writing routine and writing voice

A certain writing routine is the basis for good texts. I’m not saying that you need a fixed day to write, but rather that you should write regularly to get right into the flow. It’s a bit like exercising: when you go jogging for the first time, you won’t get far and you won’t be fast either. But if you go jogging regularly, you will become faster and more persistent over time. I have described here why a writing routine is important and how you can find it.

The writing voice is also an element for really good texts. It makes your texts authentic and unique.

3.) Concept and structure

Sometimes it might work if you just start writing like that. But not always. For website texts, for flyers and also for some blog articles, you simply need a concept. Let’s take this article here – without a concept it wouldn’t work at all or it would have taken me about three times as long to finish. But I sat down, wrote down the individual tips, and then picked out the corresponding articles. So I had a rough structure and could then really write straight away. You can read here why a concept is so important.

4.) Varied texts

How do you get your readers to read your texts to the end? You have to captivate them – on the one hand you do that with an interesting topic, on the other hand by writing varied texts that you just enjoy reading and that you CANNOT stop at all. You can get variety in your text, for example through synonyms, but also by using empty phrases in a targeted manner and not too often. But you can also spice up your texts with stylistic devices such as alliteration or metaphors.

5.) Short and understandable

Be clear, not clever is a maxim among copywriters. As much as we want to come across as clever, it can also go badly. But it is important that you write clearly. And if you are sure that your readers will understand you, then of course you can be clever too.

6.) Spelling and grammar

That sounds totally unsexy at first – but spelling is sexy! With texts that are as free of errors as possible, you also show that you have what it takes, that you are educated. It’s also an appreciation for your readers, you also show them that they are important to you.

7.) The common thread: headings and sub-headings

No matter what type of text you write: You should put a lot of time, energy and brainpower into your headings and subheadings. This not only applies to web copy, but also when you write something that will be printed. Because the headline is the first thing you see of your text. And if it doesn’t really pop, then the reader is gone. The subheadings, on the other hand, form a common thread with which your readers can see at a glance what it is about and whether the article is interesting.

8.) Proofreading and optimizing

That too sounds kind of banal and boring now, but tweaking and proofreading are perhaps the most important steps in writing. It’s not just about typing errors, which inevitably always creep in. No, it is also about content weaknesses and leaps of thought that confuse your readers. Ghostwriting LLC has the best proof readers around.

9.) Be authentic and honest!

At first glance, this may not have anything to do with writing, but on closer inspection it does. Most of your texts have something to do with self-expression, even those that you might not think about right away, such as emails. And because you don’t want to be a fake, but real and authentic, that has to come across in your texts. Do not try to pretend, because it usually goes wrong and the text just doesn’t turn out well. Be yourself because this is your best version.

10.) Learn how it doesn’t work

That too may sound a little weird at first. But if you know how to write really bad texts, then it will be much easier for you to write good texts in the future. You are then trained much more on it, which is actually bad. Although a lot is of course a matter of taste, there are a few things that make a bad text. And when you recognize them, they don’t happen to yourself.
