Note: Instagram does not support direct messaging on the browser version. So you won’t even be able to use Instagram Groups chat.
How to Create an Instagram Group
Let’s see how to create an Instagram group –
1. Open the Instagram app on your Android or iOS device.
2. Now, Tap the Direct Message icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Add Peoples to Create Group (tap on the Search bar and type out the names of people you want to add).
4. After adding the people, tap the Chat option in the top-right corner of the screen.
After that, the group will not be created until you send the first message. You can name the group (ex. Techk), and notify other people about messages and the existence of the group.

That’s it, you have successfully created your IG group. Now turn to Instagram group settings, you can browse group options and change group settings.
- Open the Instagram app.
- Tap on the Direct Messages icon.
- Now, Select the group chats you’d like to access.
- Tap the See group members.
- To change the group photo, tap Change Group Photo.
- Tap Add People…… (+).
Now, You will see other great options on this group chat setting page. Or, You can mute messages, individual members, or even leave or end the chat.
You can also unsend a message in a group chat. If you want to delete the long-press message you want to be removed and press Unsend Message.
