Planning a destination wedding can be an overwhelming and stressful experience. There are so many decisions to make, from the location to the food, not to mention all of those little details that can seem unimportant now but will become very important as you get closer to your big day. T

o help with this process we have compiled a list of five key steps that will set you on the right path for planning your perfect destination wedding:

1) Figure out where you want your destination wedding

For many people, this is one of the first things they need to do because it has such a large impact on all other aspects of their event.

You should start by deciding if you prefer a warm-weather locale or somewhere more temperate like New England in the fall. Once you have an idea of what type of destination you are looking for, start researching specific locations and narrowing it down from there.

2) Choose your wedding party

Just like with a traditional wedding, you will need to choose who is in your wedding party. This decision can be tricky when you are dealing with friends and family spread out all over the globe.

Do your best to include everyone you want in some way, whether it is by having them stand up with you or through a special toast or dance.

3) Determine the budget for your destination wedding

This is a big one! The beauty of destination weddings is that you can have a more intimate and personal celebration but there are some downsides when it comes to balancing affordability with making it special.

A good rule of thumb when setting a budget range is to plan on spending about 50% more than you would for a traditional wedding.

4) Choose a wedding planner

If you are going to invest your time and money into a destination wedding, it is important that you find someone who knows the area well.

You need to make sure they know about local customs and will be able to help with all of those little details that might seem unimportant but end up being very important on your big day.

5) Send out invitations

This is one of the last steps in the planning process but it is just as important as any other. Make sure you give yourself enough time to design beautiful invites that will set the tone for your dream destination wedding.

6) Enjoy the planning process

This is probably the most important step of all. Yes, there will be stressful moments and yes, you will have to make some tough decisions but in the end, it will all be worth it when you are celebrating your big day with family and friends in a beautiful location.

We hope this guide has been helpful and that you are now feeling excited and ready to start planning your dream destination wedding! For more information on any of the topics covered in this guide, please feel free to reach out to us. We would be happy to help in any way we can.
