3) No training for staff members regarding their roles and responsibilities during the event.

4) Damaged or lacking in wearable equipment.  

5) Unclear job description.

6) No pre-event meetings with all the staff members and security department.

7) Inadequate number of security guards or lack of enough safety personnel such as firefighters, paramedics etc. at event sites.

8) Not hiring a sufficient amount of vehicle parking space for vehicles carrying vip  guests to the event.

9) Lack of screening equipment for different types of personal belongings such as bags, briefcases etc.

10) Inadequate security staff or lack of trained security guards to handle emergencies.

11) Not properly securing the venue from entry and exit points.

12) No previous site inspection to check safety measures before the event.

13) Lack of security during off-site events.

14) Ineffective communication between the event management and security department.

How can you avoid these issues at your next event?

1) Make sure that all the staff members are aware of their roles and responsibilities during the event.

2) Organize training sessions for your staff members regarding their roles towards venue security.

3) Make a list of equipment required to provide security.

4) Conduct site inspections before the event to check safety measures, entry/exit points etc.

5) Prepare a detailed emergency plan to deal with different types of emergencies.

6) Make sure that your security guards are aware of their role during an emergency.

7) Installing an adequate number of surveillance cameras at the event site because it makes it easier for you to monitor what is going on at your event.

8) Conducting off-site events? Then you must provide security at those locations as well.

9) Communicate with all the staff members and security department to avoid any issues between them.

10) Take proper care of your equipment such as the screening machine etc. so that nobody is able to damage it or steal it from your event site.

11) Set a proper schedule for your security guards to avoid fatigue.

12) Provide enough parking space for vehicles carrying vip guests, otherwise it may cause traffic jams during the event.

13) In case of any emergency or mishap you must have an alternate plan to follow.

14) Make sure that all the staff members and security department are aware of the alternate plan.

15) In case of any suspicious activity, your security guards must report it to you as soon as possible.

16) Never disclose security details to anyone or else it may be a threat to the safety of everyone.

17) Keep checking your surveillance cameras regularly during events because someone might enter your event site without your knowledge.

18) If you are not able to handle an emergency alone then ask for help from the police.

19) Always lock your emergency exits so that nobody gets access to it.

20) Control entry points of your event site with the help of security guards or staff members.
