many of you might be thinking of visiting abroad or simply moving to another country for studies, profession or otherwise. Well, it is good to think about your future in abroad. But do you know about the documentations and paperwork? Not the passport thing but the apostille procedure?

Well, in case you plan on using a certified or notarized document in any other type of country for legal purposes, you first need to evaluate the Hague Convention to decide if the other country is a party.  Well, India along with many other contraries are now a part. The point is once you have proper apostille documentation, you can be sure that your papers are recognized and legal in other countries. You may not be clear about the apostille meaning right? Well, this post might get you an idea for sure.

What types of documents you can apostille?

The following documents are a few of many documents that you can get apostilled:

  • publicly recorded documents (like that of certified copies)
  • Marriage certificates
  • Birth certificates
  • Death certificates
  • Divorce decrees
  • Court papers and documents
  • Documents filed with any of the courts of the country.
  • Notarized documents

The point is you need to be sure that these are validated through the apostille process or you may not be able to convince anyone overseas that the documents are yours. It would be really strange and heart-breaking when you have to prove that the birth certificate you hold is yours. What is the point if you have to prove your existence in another country? So, wise it to make sure that you do apostille well in time, or you may face trouble ahead. In other words, you must be sure your documents and papers carry an apostille stamp. Without it, your documents or certificates could not get acknowledged abroad.

The usage of your Apostille Certificate.

Speaking of your apostille certificate, it is a small piece of paper that is glued to the document (you might wish to get official copies of legal documents such as that of birth certificates so as to recall the original copy in its default format) and an ‘Apostille seal’ or even that of ‘Apostille stamp’ is printed on the document, leaving a kind of raised stamp on your paper or certificate on behalf of the delivering authority.

Your certificate or document would include information like that of the country it is being issued in, who has signed the document (where relevant), proper date of issue, place of issue, issuing authority and even an Apostille Certificate number. This is a unique number that could easily be verified by an overseas authority with that of the issuing authority to check authenticity. Once your papers and documents are as per the requirement, you would not experience any hassle overseas.

Conclusion

So, whether papers, certificate or degree apostille, it is time that you get them all checked. Do not take a chance. It can get really complicated if you haven’t apostilled your papers and you are in another country. Getting it, all done can be tedious that is the reason getting professional help may be good.
